the experience
I don't want your photos to be something that's just ticked off the to-do list.
let's make it a great memory.
I want to photograph moments, not poses.
My photography style is storytelling based with a heavy focus on connection. There's no formula for photos, it's all variables. That's what makes photos unique to each family. Photo sessions have the ability to make people hella stressed out, but they don't need to. All you have to do is show up as yourselves and hang out. That's it. Focus on being present with your family, I'll take care of the rest.
When you go in with no expectations, magic happens. You'll get photos that are perfect for your family 🤎
The beauty of lifestyle sessions is that they're tailored to your family. Gone are the days of stiff clothes and fake smiles. Now, we do what ever the hell we want.
The possibilities are endless, but a good starting point for sessions is this simple question;
what does your family enjoy doing together?
Do you cook together? Do crafts often? Go to the park and have picnics? Take a walk around your neighborhood every day? Skateboard at a local skate park (or in your driveway)? Go on family bike rides? Have a garden you tend to every year? Cut your kid's hair in the kitchen? Go apple picking annually? Deck out everyone's arms in temporary tattoos? Grill on the back deck every week? Splash in the pool for hours every summer?
If we do something that your family enjoys doing, not only are you more comfortable and are spending quality time together, but you'll have photos of these memories. I'm allllll about those sentimental memories 😉 AND this is the perfect opportunity to spend time with your family with no distractions. Win, win.

I'm very laid back and allow the space for organic moments to happen. I've been doing this long enough, I know when to hold out on disrupting moments because something great is about to happen.
I gently guide you through the session but, I can't stress this enough, go into the session with no expectations and magic will happen. I have no expectations for your session. No, that's a lie. My only expectation is to photograph your family as they are, quirks and all, because that's your family and your family deserves to be photographed, exactly as they are.

A motherhood session can be many things. They can look like; breastfeeding, early postpartum days or your postpartum journey, mommy + me, final pregnancy, mom + baby bath, etc. - the options are endless! Really it's just about encompassing something in the journey of motherhood.

I recommend scheduling maternity sessions between 28-35 weeks. We want a bump, but don't want mom to be too uncomfortable during the session. For newborn sessions, the sweet spot is within the first 21 days, but we can definitely go beyond that time frame as well.

After you book, I’ll send you my ‘session guide' that’ll have all my tips + tricks to picking outfits. I also have an Instagram highlight and a Pinterest board dedicated to outfit inspiration!

No worries! A messy house is real life. As a heads up, my favorite rooms to shoot in are living rooms, bedrooms, and any room with great natural light.
And that's totally normal. Let me tell you right now, 99% of kids I photograph aren't happy the entire time. When that happens I take a step back, let you comfort your child, and we can take a break if needed (I’m also not above bribery and always have some Smarties in my camera bag.. 🤫😉)

If the weather doesn't cooperate on the day of an outdoor shoot, we can discuss alternatives such as rescheduling the session or finding an indoor location.
I know Nebraska weather can get crazy but, if it’s not too bad out, we can make some adjustments and still be able to create some amazing photos. We’ll just keep in contact leading up to the shoot, to make sure it’s still safe for everyone.

Within 4 weeks, but don’t worry, I love posting sneak peeks, so you’ll definitely see a few before I deliver the gallery.
Nope, you’ll only get the best! I’m a shutterbug so you’ll get plenty delivered, don’t worry about that. I pass on the; out of focus, eyes closed, crazy faced (not in a good way) photos, and give you the smiling, laughing, genuine ones. But I’m not saying a few outtakes won’t just happen to make it into the final cut 😉
the process
I want to make this process easy peasy for you, here’s the gist —

The day comes for the session. You + your fam play, we hang out and chit chat. I'll guide you when needed, but will step back to let moments happen as well. My sessions are child-led so if we need to break at any time for snacks, a dance party, nursing, etc — we can do that!

Within 4 weeks of your session, your gallery link will be sent to you by email 🥳 I deliver galleries through an online delivery website where you can easily download your photos (it walks you through how step-by-step). You can print your photos wherever you choose (but I do list my recommendations on where to print in the email I send).
